The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Psalm 19:1-3

This is only a sampling of the thousands of known nebula and galaxies.  Before the Hubble the expanse of the universe was thought to be much more limited.  Now we know that there is no end in site.  An article on astronomy noted the breakthroughs credited to the Hubble telescope, "Until recently scientist believed there to be empty space between the galaxies.  Now we have discovered that these spaces are not empty.  Just out of reach of the vision of our telescopes appear to be limitless galaxies that fill in every empty space."  The so-called 'big bang' weakly offered to explain the known galaxy at the time the theory was developed.  As technology expands our universe into infinity, it becomes clear that it takes more than a bang to create the innumerable distant galaxies that dwarf our own existence.

The beauty and design cry out the handiwork of God.  An atheist once said, "It is not possible for the universe to be limited in either space or time; therefore it is infinitely large and has no beginning and no end; therefore it could not have been created; therefore it has no creator."  No, the infinity of our universe does not disprove the Creator, it proves that we have an infinite God.  It is much harder to grasp an explosion from a super-dense molecule with infinite force to create an endless universe with intricate artistic designs and life than it is to believe an infinite God created and designed this magnificent universe.

One argument  atheism frequently relies on is the impossibility that God could have always been.  I have heard many atheists say that it is illogical to believe in a God with no beginning.  "Everything must have a beginning".  What they fail to acknowledge is that evolution drives them to the same 'illogical' dilemma.   With the 'big bang', there is the 'cosmic egg' with no beginning as well.   Isn't it even more illogical to believe that a dense molecule or some other unknown matter could have always been there without a Creator, and exploded without any change or cause?  It then spread to infinity and created designs with such detail and beauty?   It created the universe in which we live and just happened to fall into a solar system with such perfect precision that every planet lined up on its own path and on a perfectly flat plain to each of the other planets.  The earth formed itself in exact harmony to support life, working together with the sun and moon to give us seasons, climate and precise gravitational pull from the moon to produce tides that prevent flooding yet create currents that are essential for life to be supported.  As one evolutionist put it, "so many coincidences occurred that are critical for life to form and survive, it is almost uncanny".  That is a bit of an understatement.

Here is an interesting dilemma for the big bang theorists: "Red shift measurements indicate that the universe is falling apart against the force of gravity.  Therefore if there must have been a big bang then the resultant expansion should be slowing down over time due to gravity.  But it isn't. it's speeding up." Robert Kirshner, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
