What the Bible Teaches about the Lord’s Supper

Some people fear taking the Lord’s Supper (Communion) because they feel unworthy. Many teach that we have to look for our sins before we can take communion, and if we don’t confess everything, we will be in danger of judgment. This is not what the Bible teaches. This short study looks at the misunderstood passage that causes these fears, and reminds us that the purpose of this sacrament is to remember what Christ has done, and reflect on the joy of our salvation!

Dismantling Doubts – Lesson 9

Covers chapter 9.

This lesson looks at some of the problem scriptures that cause people to doubt their relationship with God. What does the Bible mean when it says, if someone sins willfully, there remains no more sacrifice for sin? Or if someone falls away, it’s not possible to be renewed again to repentance? These scriptures are often misused to overthrow the faith of Christians, but if we examine the context and the purpose of these passages, it is quite the opposite of what people are often taught. These were intended to instruct, offer hope, and establish our confidence in Christ. It is not a message of condemnation.
